My experience of The Best Of Me

posted on May 7, 2012 by Ronel Erasmus

Hi Nicholas,

Have never done this before, but felt very moved after reading your latest novel and wanted to share this with you. On so many levels, I felt connected to the characters in this book…in fact a big part of the story resembles my own life story as well, except that I have not yet made the full circle back to the meeting up after so many years. In a weird way I found the plot of the story to be guidance as to my future steps in a relationship similar to Amanda’s, although I don’t know if I could do the noble thing any longer, it’s been too long now without a positive outcome.

Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you on a brilliant book which I am certain will also be a blockbuster at the movies!

P.S. I hope the North Carolina tourism board has recognised the brilliant job you have done in all your past novels of painting a very realistic and attractive picture of the state which has inspired me to visit from the UK!

Three Weeks With My Brother

posted on May 4, 2012 by Kayleigh

I literally just put down “Three Weeks With My Brother,” and the only thing I could think was, “Wow. Even his life is novel-worthy.” I just wanted to say that I was endlessly shocked by the content. Not only because it gave me so much respect for the hardships he went through, but because it finally explained everything. Having read most all of the Nicholas Sparks novels and being an aspiring writer myself, I’ve always marveled at the way he can pull you into the story until you’re living it more than you are your own life. People say to write about what you know, and so I finally realize why he could so realistically portray emotions and situations: he’s lived through them! I’ve only gained more of an adoration for Nicholas Sparks, he is even more remarkable than the characters he creates. I’m still astounded by all the things talked about in the book that he keeps up with in daily life, and it left me with one thing to say: I am thoroughly convinced that Superman is no superhero at all… He’s a writer!

A new appreciation for reading

posted on May 3, 2012 by Nicky

I would like to thank you for giving me a new appreciation for reading. I am dyslexic and reading can be hard work. Your books have been a pleasure to read and as soon as I finish a book, I pick up another!

I hope you will be able to do a book signing in the UK sometime.

The Notebook vs. The Lucky One

posted on May 3, 2012 by Erin Fowler

Nicholas, you truly have the gift of writing. The Notebook was the very 1st book I’ve ever bought in my entire life. It is also the start to my collection of great novels.

I must say that I am very excited to get “The Lucky One”

Keep on writing..

Safe Haven Movie

Deas Nicholas Sparks.

I love your book SAFE HAVEN but now i have to read that Keira Knightley is supposed to play the role of Katie. I’m a little bit disappointed of that choice because i always saw Natalie Portman for this role.

I love- The Best of Me

posted on May 2, 2012 by Sarah Murungi

Hi NIcholas, its strange that im writing to someone i dont know. But iam a Ugandan visiting the US and my friend bought for me - The best of me to read on the plane. I decided to read it on the way to North Carolina yesterday and you know what? It was the best thing that happened to me. Not because of the love story about Amanda and Dawson- which i liked and it interested me so much but because it described the place i was visiting for the first time. Its like i new North Carolina, even before i could land there.

I know this may not mean anything, bt i wrote to my friend today and thanked her for a very good choice of a book. Had given up on love, but may be its time to give it a try!

Bless you
Sarah
